Line 6 Pods....yay or nay??

Hey guys,

Anyone have experience with the Line 6 Pods?

I'm thinking of picking up a Pocket Pod for jamming at home without setting up amps and wires and and and and....

Also, what is a good price on these?

You may get many answers here but I'll add my 0.02zar first.

1. Its more fun playing on a real amp.

2. You have a GT8 and it does have amp and cabinet simulators as well as a headphone output, right?

I'd go for option 2 if you want to jam quietly seeing the GT8 can do the stuff a Pod can. Else you'll have to either suck it up and plug stuff in or leave everything plugged in like most of us do ? I'm not sure a POD will add value to your current setup.

Pretty cool as a good sounding headphone practice tool or for travelling very light. Yes an amp is more fun, but far less practical.

If you are gigging, the amp becomes more practical and easy to use.

I have mine on my desk ready to plug in. The amp sims are quite decent, I use it mostly for recording.

I think I paid about R1500 brand new.

You can also register with Line6 and download a software editor that makes it easy to tweak, also a huge patch library, but most are useless.

At that price and a recording interface. I reckon it's worth it.

Hey man my friend has one and ive heard some stuff he recorded with it which actually sounds great! But id prefer an amp! Though getting one isnt a bad way to go if u get it for a good price secondhand if u go some cash stashed somewhere!
