Neck On Switch

Kalcium · 2011-08-31T11:53:00+00:00

Hi guys, Im thinking of adding a neck on switch when I mod my squier sometime soon and I was just wondering whether I should get a DPDT Push Pull to change the phase of the neck otherwise the Neck + Bridge sound will be super thin...I mean, if the point of the switch is to get a sort of tele tone surely you won't get that if the pickups are out of phase? I don't get why people add the neck on switch and say its so they can get tele-like tones but then theres no mention of changing the phase of one of the pickups... Unless they become in series and out of phase with a neck on switch? Just wondering because I accidentally wired the bridge and middle out of phase and got almost no volume and a really thin sound which I think would be useless if thats what I'm gonna get from a neck on switch... EDIT: Ok apparently they are in series with a neck on switch...but would there be much of a difference to the sound if I did change the phase or would it just make it quieter because of the hum cancelling?
