@aja: That 60's or 70's Ibanez hollow body does look beautiful. You say it sounds bad? and could you possibly giv me the model nr? Because I can get one like that too for the same price as my Teisco. So what would you say?
It feels like it was made from balsa wood. The finishing is not great and the wiring is a mess. Basically it needs a lot of work. The stock pickups will make any amp sound like a shower radio. To be fair though, the wiring needs to be completely redone, so maybe something in there is sucking tone.
It doesn't have a model number anywhere on (or in) it - so if you have any more info I would be very glad! I have looked in old Ibanez catalogs to no avail. It seems to follow the 60's style, but lacks the metal ibby logo on the headstock - it is printed on instead, like the 70's guitars.
I just liked the "stereo" split pickups, which are loose and made very badly.
If you want a nice interesting guitar to play around with then go for it! But dont think it will be a 335 tone monster without the Gibson logo ?
I am quite surprised to hear of another one in SA, they are quite rare I believe (probably because no-one bought the damn thing in the first place haha!)
