Hi all, Today I called up SaMusicalInstruments to offer some advice on their (appalling) website. In today's age, there is no excuse not to have a usable online presence. The person to whom I spoke (Mike), was incredibly rude, refused to listen and subsequently put the phone down on me. I appreciate that he may have been busy or had a customer at the time, but there is no excuse for being rude to someone simply trying to help. As such, I would urge all members not to deal with SaMusicalInstruments.co.za (not that you even could due to the disaster of a website) Kind regards, Matt.

Look at it from their perspective.
Even though it isn't good (at all), they have clearly put a HUGE amount of work into it.
Few people who have put such effort into something will want to say:
"Oh ... it's not good? You think I should start again? Good idea! What was your name again?"

I'm sure you are right.
I'm just highlighting the behaviour of the human creature

matt, here's the thing. i haven't been around here terribly long, but i have noticed that most folks around here are prepared to give most folks around here a fair amount of leeway, provided nothing nasty happens. most of the time, the only reason we're gonna avoid some spot is if one or other of us has genuinely been ripped off somewhere, and then woe betide. although not forever, most likely. so yeah, not the best idea, just coz the guy was rude to you for giving him some unwanted advice, in a nutshell. i'd say just leave it, as it were.

About 4 years ago, i wrote to the store outlinning what i saw as potential flaws in their website, and how i could help them, especially in the navigation aspect of their website.

I even offered my services for free, or a minimal fee, can't remember.

Then again....this site now has 2 pages of free marketing...just saying.... ?.

However you must admit that you came over as (a bit) arrogant, especially when telling this community to AVOID that site for whatever reason. We ALL learn from our little mistakes, and there's no ill-feelings here. Keep posting. ?
