FENDER 19-(I don't know what year but it looks retro!) wireless gadget.

Right, so as some of you know, I am currently in Korea. So last Saturday, I walked into this weird store and see this thing:

Do you think it's a original Fender product? Doubting it as Fender would be in English and this is written in Korean. Or maybe there is some story...

I wouldn't be the best person to offer an opinion. There are some hardcore Fender aficionados in here who I'd image should be able to offer better educated opinions.

It should be interesting to know but it does look unlikely. Nothing about the device says Fender (other than the name). I always got the impression that Fender was all about futuristic looks. I find it a bit odd that they'd produce a device like this and not give it some sort of futuristic design flair - even if just the proper "Fender" typeface.

Then again, if I'm not mistaken, the Messr Leo Fender originally hailed from a radio building background. Prior to his starting to make guitars, he was in teh radio making business. Not sure if that means anything.

Yeah Leo trained as an accountant and worked as one at first, but was an electronics hobbyist who eventually started his own repair shop.

As to the wireless - I sincerely doubt it's a real Fender product for any one of a whole host of reasons.

For more info on Leo, consult Wikipedia...

As for the wireless:
- The logo is wrong
- Looks like it predates Fender manufacturing anything in the East
- FM transmitters are illegal (or strictly controlled) in most countries
- An acoustic pickup? Fender are relative newcomers to anything acoustic...
- Pink plastic? Pink's not really Fender's style before the Hello Kitty guitar ?

All true! Like the Hello Kitty comment. ? ?

But ja, been in the east for 3 months now and rip offs are easy to find. Saw a pair of jeans the other day called Lev-eye. :roflmao: :roflmao:

But it is a rather interesting little thang and the cool thing is that all radio speakers differ, so you will get new sounds every time.

for those interested; this 다 목 적 용 무 선 송 신 기 - (on the side of the box underneath the English) means, "New Purpose for all the wireless transmission based"

and I have been told that the Korean written on the front that is written skew means "New".

So, I know that this has to be a Korean company that copied Fender's name for the sake of selling more products....
