I should add I think they concentrate on educational non-fiction... but not 100% sure, check them out! Electric Book Works at

Speak to Arthur 079 603 3312... their office is in Obs, CT.
That is Arthur Attwell - my wife knows him (she's in educational publishing). EBW don't only do educational, BTW.
To be honest, all the book production side of things I can do inhouse. My wife is a project manager/editor/photographer and she has been doing more and more E-publishing work. Her best friend is an editor/typesetter. Between them they have a half century of publishing experience in all fields. For selling the e-books, well... it's hard to beat Amazon (there is a a one-time fee to register as a publisher, which while it may be high for a single self-published book, is worth it if you are going to publish a bunch of them).

Alan, i did the self publish route, and beeleeeeve me, the ''literatie'' of the so-called publishing world are the pits to try and deal with.
Unfortunately, "self-published" is usually a synonym for "vanity press", and the vanity presses have foisted a huge amount of dreck on the world. They make their money from the authors, not the book sales, basically publishing
anything that someone is willing to pay to have published. The better publishers get thousands of manuscripts submissions a month, and very few are worth spending any time and effort on, let alone investing tens of thousands of rand to prepare it for publication (the only costs e-books cut down on are printing and distribution).
