oldtelefart Anybody out there in contact with Louis? I've exchanged emails with his nephew, Mike Mathee, who lives in the USA. Mike's Dad, P.J. Mathee was the original rhythm guitarist in Omega Ltd. Mike has a gypsy jazz Django Reinhardt-type act in California. My musical partner in SA, Dave Gomersall, had the hard job of replacing Louis in Omega Ltd. Louis was simply one the best, most fiery totally emotional players I have ever seen. He could play Latin jazz and Django-style stuff as well as he covered Hendrix. "Tchaikovsky 1" was an awesome record considering the time and place. Before I turned pro I was living in Loader St. CT and came home one day to find my new next door neighbour was Louis. Over the next few months we had quite a few backyard jams (mostly with nylon-string acoustics and a bottle of KWV.) I learned so much. He had a major breakdown and walked away from it all, but at the time he was as good as anyone on the planet.
