IceCreamMan

did not watch the game but mightily impressive of the lions to whip the bulls in their backyard ....cant remembe when last that happened

Attila

zohn wrote That was a sweet win, especially after Ralapele's illigit try (blatant knock-on in front of the touch judge).
Well done Lions - you deserve the top spot on the log, hopefully things will work out this season.
Josh "stem-in-die-bos" Strauss rocks!
?

Ndungane's try is also bit suspect imo...don't think he actually grounded that ball. Pity the TV referee was n't called in.

guidothepimmp

yeh good win... just wish these things

1) we keep John Mitchell
2) we keep our players from moving to the richer/ better teams
3) we keep up the renewed team spirit

happy days... next week the Cheetahs 8)

Mr-M

Impressed with their Currie Cup season so far. I hope they manage to keep their momentum going so that their confidence will keep building.

i had a pretty good w/e on superbru. just england/wales and die bliksemse griquas wat my opgevark het. the all blacks were all over the wallies tho eh? goodness me. it's going to be an interesting world cup.

chris77

I love the way Mitchell dropped Vermaak because of the way he signed for the bulls. ? Shows that they are serious about their "building a team for the future" mantra. If a player doesn't want to be a part of that, then cheers boet. The oke your'e keeping out of the team does, so that's who we will play.
And the W.C is going to the land of the silver fern this year. On current form (and at home!) not even a French masterclass performance or an English ref will stop em this time round.

And HERE they gonna get bliksemed ?

IceCreamMan

i think the lions gonna be stopped short this weekend...province must be stinging after the loss to sharks .....they gonna come back fighting hard

domhatch

sometimes when you want it the most, you trip the hardest. (the all blacks haven't won a world cup since '87, and they keep saying how bad they want it, how much it stings, how hard they're gonna fight. of course, this year it looks like they may actually have the right ingredients.) don't know if the same philosophy applies to the currie cup though...

[deleted]

I'd also be happy if I was a Lions supporter, no currie cup since 1999.
Win a few games for a change and all of a sudden all these 'hibernated' supporters start coming out...

I still say the lions are k@k

Lets look at this in detail...

Lions beat...

Pumas? whos that?
Griquas? whos that?
Leopards? No comment...
Bulls? Not much going on there this season.. really struggling... should come back soon
Cheetahs? They got lucky, Cheetahs played poor rugby on the day...

Okay so big deal. They got through all the bottom feeders now they Heros???
I'll wait till the end of the season, and I am willing to put money on the Lions NOT being in the final...

But hey, after a super 15 season like the Lions had, if they won A (ONE) game... I would be over the moon!

:roflmao:

Carry on....

guidothepimmp

lol...

you best believe that while were winning we going to make a noise about it.. stuff knows when we lose we always have to hear about it...

so indeed mate

carry on is about right

Dont know who you support but lets look at the detail:

Pumas - Sharks beat them by 1 point, Bulls beat them by 4 points
Griquas - WP could only draw, Sharks got hammered 43-22
Leopards - been pounded by most
Cheetahs - Bulls were extremely lucky to beat them 33-30, Likewise the Sharks , Cheetahs hammered WP

Still good to be a LION.............. ?

I for one am glad to see the lions winning again, regardless of the circumstances. I dont support them as my number 1 team, but seems as though I am living on their turf... :-[

I'm very glad for the Lions too. They currently play excellent rugby....one sees the hand of a good coach and assistant coach there. Their game definately has a bit of NZ flavour now and I certainly hope it lasts for the rest of the season.
Friday (vs WP) willl be a good indicator of what we can expect from them for the rest of the season...... But overall it's a good thing for rugby in that region.
