Tip for the vaalies when down in Durbs: if you don't want to sound like a noob when ordering, don't ask for a "quarter mutton bunny chow", you simply need to say "quarter mutton" (or "half mutton" if you need to go a week without eating again).

Another tip for the vaalies, we also get something down here called the "roti". The greatest exponent of this delightful creation can be found at a place called Sunshine Chip 'n Ranch in Sparks Rd (or Johnny's as its known to the locals). Don't go there with any valuables on your person, it's basically just a hatch in the wall on the pavement in a less than savoury area (not that bad now actually, but it used to be like that).

Order the chip 'n double cheese (I wouldn't touch the meat there) and make sure you have an appetite. Kudos to anyone that can comfortably finish one in a single sitting.

Many years ago, friends and I used to frequent a particular establishment in Grey Street that sold particularly fine bunnies. The cherry on the top of that particular culinary cake was their excellent three bean bunny. Very good indeed.
