Rough Mixes for Spearfishing DVD

Hi Guys

Thought I'd post 2 ROUGH mixes I'm working on for a spearo DVD we are currently working on.

I'll post some more as we go and I'll also post the final mixes after mastering.

Gear Used:
Gibson Les Paul and my MIM Strat
Cort Bass Guitar
Guitar Rig 2
Drums programmed with 'EZ Drummer' (really dumb name for quite a powerful product)
Tracking done with SONAR 4

It's nice and tight but the OD of the guitars sound a little too "Guitar Riggy". Maybe raise the Bass a bit in both. The cleans sound good
not bad rough mixes ?

Yeah, when I record the final composition I will not use Guitar Rig. I only use it for preliminary tracking to avoid the mission of setting up mics and amps ect.

When I track for keeps I'll go through an ac30 with with whatever stomp box is needed and all miced with 2 pencil condensors.

To be safe you should record the DI too and then maybe reamp it once the performances are perfect. That way you don't have to re-take after a perfect take because the tones were weak.
