Man the US is in so much trouble. All the action is gonna happen in the next few days unless they decide to lift the ceiling to $16 trillion something. That'll only be delaying it though.

Would mean havoc for everyone in the world if they decide to not lift the ceiling. SA included.

Any thoughts?

It's been my belief for a few years now that we are actually watching a sun set, an empire decline. It's always that way. No empire lasts forever.

Yes... I know that the USA doesn't have an empire, so maybe I'm talking a little metaphorically here. That old Western and Northern power bloc seems pretty shakey to me - some parts of it more than others.

It's Rome and the Mongol Empire all over again. The empire will decline, old alliances will splinter, new powers will arise.

We live in interesting times.

yup, all of this living on credit and being at war with everyone had to catch up with them sooner or later. I wonder how bad it's going to be though. One thing is for sure..........you tube survival hints and tips movies have had loads more people watching them than before.

I think though that you average American has no idea how bad this can be.

Try Botswana and Zambia as well. Gaberone is the recipient of a brand new oversize airport being built by Chinese contractors. It's almost done. It was commissioned for the World Cup.

To clarify, I have nothing against Chinese companies per se (other than their tolerance of dodgy government (lack of) human rights practices) but research who you are dealing with.

Back on topic: the US hits a "major crisis" once every two decades at the very least, it'll be fine for a long time to come.

You should see southern DRC, and parts of West Africa.
I've heard sign language gets them by in the French speaking countries.
