Intro's... yeah what to say...
I'm an SA expat in Mozambique. I've been here for almost 4 years now and missing the SA music scene quite a bit. Because of where I am, I also struggle to find the time to play ☹

I've been playing since 1994, and I'm supposed to be a better player than what I am, but hey, no practice time means no growth. I really want to get back into it, though.
I play mostly metal and rock. More metal.

This might not be the place to ask this question, maybe someone can direct me. I want to play/buy a Les Paul Standard Plus in South Africa. This one ( http://www.music123.com/Guitars/Electric-Guitars/Solid-Body-Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul-Standard-Plus-Electric-Guitar.site7prod519337.product ). Does anyone know where in SA I can go to play/buy this guitar and how much it might be? I don't get a happy feeling about the whole buying online thing.

Your best bet might be to call Marshall Music (+27 11 804 1362 - Joburg Woodmead) since they're the Gibson distributors locally.

Thanks for the welcome.

Live music in Moz... yeah, maybe it's a language barrier problem, but I don't know of many live acts here in Maputo. I'm sure they exist, I just don't hear of them because I don't speak/understand Portuguese.
I've seen a couple of one man bands at some restaurants, and they weren't too bad. Generally you get a lot of Jazz type music here. Also, at the American School's fair I've seen a rock band, but they were American expats doing it for the fun of it, covering AC/DC songs and other older bands. Enjoyed that quite a bit. The drummer did the vocals.

I do know that there is a Mozambican metal band here somewhere in Maputo. I saw them at a show in Joburg in 2006 or 2007. But I have no idea where they normally play here in Maputo.
