The BYOC site doesn't ship to SA AFAIK, and I don't think there are any stores that who stock these who do either.

Maybe contact BYOC and see if they will ship to SA. They might be more willing if you get a group buy together, and that would also make the UPS shipping more affordable. I'd be interested in one of their Wah kits and I'm sure other members will be interested in kits too.

I have imported BYOC kits extensively - probably a dozen kits over the last two years. You can see in my gear list below what I have on my board and I have also made up kits for other musos.
For reasons best known to themselves, BYOC will not ship kits to RSA, although they confirmed to me last week that they will ship component parts. ?
Since BYOC won't ship kits directly to RSA I have bought my kits through Scott Hager at BYOC's Canadian distributor "Axeandyoushallreceive" . There is a link to them on the BYOC site. Scott's prices are identical to BYOC but Canadian postage is more than US postage to RSA. When you collect the parcel from the SA post office, you will have to pay demurrage and probably VAT at the imported value, excluding shipping, plus 10%.
By the way, the kits are great. I've never had a part missing, the instructions are clear, the circuit boards are all thru hole plated and silk screened, and the support forum guys are really helpful if you do have problems, although I never had a build that didn't work. The pedals are great!
If you want to talk further let me know and I will PM my telephone details.
If anyone does want to do a group buy, I'd be happy to organize it.

Depending on the cost, I may be keen hey. I'm not a pedal sort of person but wouldnt mind one of the kits to slap together. So, I'm watching as well.

An OD2 will land in SA for between R900 and R1000, depending if, and how much, you have to pay for VAT.
If you like the Tubescreamer, then you will like the OD2. The circuit cab be vintage TS-808 but you have a number of options to play with. I built mine without the MOSFET buffer and op amp option to keep it as close as possible to the original TS-808 circuit, As a switching option on the clipping I used MOSFETs, rather than red LEDs, since they give a slightly raunchier sound than the standard diodes. The separately switchable boost in the same box also is useful.
If you are in Joburg area you could try mine out.

and Please excuse my ignorence but what do they mean by led and mosfet clipping? and what difference does mosfet make to the sound?

This article http://www.bteaudio.com/articles/TSS/TSS.html explains diode clipping in the Tubescreamer.
This thread http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=76621.0 generally explains clipping diodes.
You can replace a clipping diode with one junction of a MOSFET (metal oxide field effect transistor) and get a similar effect. You can also use LEDs (light emitting diodes). The effect on the sound will depend on the voltage at which the diodes switch on (typically 0.7V for a silicon diode) and the speed at which they switch on. You can use two opr more diodes in each direction. This is called "stacking". If you have the same number of diodes in each direction this is called symmetrical clipping, while different numbers of diodes in each direction (e.g one, one way and two the other way) is called asymmetrical clipping.
