Walked in to a Cash Crusaders today, I usually do a lap of the junk but today I spotted a classical guitar marked at R165.. with a case. It was missing some strings but looked to still be in one piece.

Haggled with the man and got it for R150 ? I know nothing about classical guitars, its a Aria Model A552. Bought some Ernie Ball strings and restrung it doesnt sound too bad 8)

Will post pics as soon I give it a bit of a clean

great find for that money nick.......... below is a pic from the catalog ......... i skimmed the article but it seems it's from '79 - 83 that they date from...... well don't hold me to any info other than the pic and the info on it the dates are just what i saw someone mentioned they had one on a forum .

they not too valuable about $100 on ebay but you paid R150 so you win big time...... and classicals are strange beasts i have found a good few pawn shop specials of old yamaha's ect that are superb and are very usable....... good luck and nice score there

And here is the pawnshop special sporting new strings and a bit of a clean, colour seems to have darkened quite a bit from the catalogue pics. Not bad for a presumably 30 year old guitar ?

The idea is to keep it till my daughter is old enough to have lessons at school ?

Cool find! Those Japanese Arias are good guitars.
