Question: Connecting a combo's speaker to a head?

HI guys.

Ive got a Hot Rod deluxe with a 16 ohm impedance speaker in the cab.
Can I disconnect the speaker in the combo and use the speaker to power a head. (that can obviously also accommodate a 16ohm speaker)

Might be silly question but thought I might ask it anyway.

Yes....BUT the amp of the combo should be swithed off at all times as it will not "see" any speaker load which could be fatal to the combo amp.

You could also get a "splitter" which will allow you to use both "original" amp and head (one at a time of course) with the speaker.
