What amazing acoustics, you must try one, they'll blow you away.

I've never heard a pickup system like these Cole Clarks have...amplified they are sensational.

I tried them at TOMS Sandton, they're the official dealer.

Yip.. I ended up buying one (actually a friend bought it for me as a gift, i'm very blessed). Got the FL-2. Only cosmetic differences a.f.a.i.k. These guitars really sound phenomenal and huge props to ColeClark's workmanship, you can see they take pride in what they do. Guitar is flawless.

FL-2 retail: R22 000 with very nice C.Clark hardcase, should be able to knock it down pretty far.

Side note: as I was waiting for mine to be setup (factory setup is pretty decent though), one of the sales guys opened a packeged guitar that just got deliverd. It was another CClark and when he had it out the case he handed it to me with a smile saying, 'check here, its in tune..'

Ha ha, There was a thread on them a short while back, I must have missed that one.

They are very good. I've played on them in store as well.

ok let me play devils advocate here....and hopefuly make a point without starting a riot .........and getting lynched

but these acoustics sell for 22K then less discount .......damn why is everyone seem to be so surprised at how good they are.........

if i was buying in that range of the market i would expect it to be awesome.........

and rather be shocked if if it wasn't.....

cos i often believe once you cross into the higher double digits one will always get a fine instrument .

BUT the difference is just tone....at that level......... and tone is broad issue.that what i want my acoustic to sound and feel like, others would consider that not their ideal tone and vice versa.......

how often have i or any of you played a stunningly beautiful, well made guitar , that sounds full and loud, but it just does not 'sit" with my/your idea of tone where the owner thinks it's the holy grail..............

so anyway all i'm saying at 22K i could line up all the different manufacturers guitars in that bracket and i would expect a great instrument ......the choice would be personal after that.

Cole Clarks are superb guitars.. and well priced!

+1 on what Keira said, I would expect something special at the price too..

Where I have to be more precise, in my opinion, is not in the 'tone' of acoustics, that differ.
Acoustics all have different 'voices'.

Which is better than the other, is in the ear of the beholder.

Well, yes and no.

The one I played was 10K after discount, not 22K.
Alistair Coakley, Mark Beling, Jason Hartman (and his dad) all played the same one, and then we did an A/B against some famous brand acoustics at twice the price, the Cole won by a mile.
Like I said, plugged in it was amazing, not because the guitar is made of some mystical wood from the Avatar forest, etc, but because the pickup system is amazing.

Just my opinion.

I too tried a variety from the 10k to the top of the range and found the plugged in sound to be very good. ?

Yep. The 10k (with discount) one was the same sound quality, just cosmetic differences like I said earlier. I realize that tone is subjective, but if your ears work at all, you'll notice that the cole clarks bring something special to the table, compared to their similar and higher priced competition.
