So I own a Les Paul Studio in Faded Cherry and Im busy adding changing things around, all replacement parts besides the tailpiece are genuine Gibson items.
1.) As stated before I rewired it to 50's wiring and replaced the caps with some oil filled overly expensive russian things
2.) Schaller straplocks, not really a mod so much as a must.
3.) The Studio comes with chrome hardware and chrome hardware doesnt tarnish as nicely as nickel does so Im replacing it. Ordered 2x Gibson Nickel humbucker covers but soon learnt that as I have Burstbucker Pros in which are apparently like PAF's both use neck spacing covers. Yes the neck and bridge covers are different, the pole spacing differs.
4.) Since the chrome was being binned I wanted to change the jack plate mount too, decided I wanted one to match the pickup rings and pickguard like a Gibson Les Paul Standard so bought a black one.
I personally think that looks way better 8)
5.) Minor change, nickel pickguard mount to replace the chrome one
6.) Gotoh lightweight nickel tail piece, can clearly see the difference between chrome and nickel in this pic (bridge is chrome, tailpiece is nickel). Unbelievable the weight different between this one and the stock, feels like you can snap it in half.
7.) Future mods, waiting for the bits to arrive: new volume knobs, top hat with silver insert and vol/tone indicators. Need to find a replacement nickel bridge too. Will post pics of those when they arrive (should be next week).
