Vintage-Guitar
Hi everyone,
My name is Mark and I am a Vintage Guitar Nut. I collect early Fender Stratocasters but am interested in pretty much any guitar and bass from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
I have owned a number of guitars, basses and amps over the years and have traded/sold many to leave me with the following beauties.
1959 Fender Stratocaster
1963 Fender Stratocaster
1966 Fender Stratocaster
1968 Fender Stratocaster
Gibson Les Paul Historic
1978 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass
1963 VOX AC30
1970 Marshall Super Bass
I am based in Durban, SA but do my fair share of traveling.

Hi Mark and welcome - I don't know whether you read the disclaimer when you joined this forum, but it states that you undertake to donate one of you guitars to a hero member of GFSA, I'll take the '59 Strat (my birth year) thank you ?
PS You don't have a '59 Marshall to go with that

This is my 1963 Fender Strat and AC30. The Strat was taken in a Part exchange deal in the USA. It is 100% original in 9/10 Condition with Tags.
The AC30 came from a estate in Ladysmith. It is in Mint Condition, with cover and retains its original valves.

Hi Mark and welcome
I saw your website. Are you trading too, or just buying for investment/pleasure?
Vintage-Guitar
The new website www.vintageguitar.co.za should be up and running in about 6 weeks time and I will have some inventory for sale.
I attend two Guitar shows a year in the USA and trade with dealers and collectors alike.

Very cool. Nice to have someone around here who knows their vintages.
Looking forward to seeing the new site. I'm not a collector myself having had a few '60s Fenders over the years and always getting rid of them in favour of better playing instruments, but I always like seeing them (and torturing myself on the opportunity missed by not hanging on to them for a few decades).
BTW. If you check the site rules you'll see you may have a mention of your business in your signature to do some subtle plugging as you post.

Woohoo! Another Fender nut! VG, keep us posted if you do go abroad again. Big GAS problems over here...

Below is an example of social suicide.....
"Ever heard the phrase 'fender-bender'? There is a reason for that..."
Anyhoo just thought i'd share what i've learned. I personally would NEVER say that ?
