Melodic, brutal, beautiful. My perfect metal album. 8)
Christian Alvestam drew me to the band - one of the best (metal) singers I've ever heard.

"Metal" is kind of a broad category! There's lots I love and don't listen to anymore like "Ride The Lightning". But here's some metalish albums that I turn to regularly:

ST: best skate thrash ever and breeding ground of Rob Trujillo. This album is slightly more metal and FULL of brilliant tunes.

Most people would choose FNM's "Angel Dust" but for me, "King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime" is a schizophrenic masterpiece.

Clutch's "Blast Tyrant". There are no words. Utter brilliance.

lamb of god - as the palaces burn.. raw and brilliant

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone.. tied with the new album as my favourite Wizard album

All Shall Perish - Hate Malice Revenge... i know it's much cooler to hate core nowadays but when it's done well it's good, and it doesn't get done better than this

Devildriver - the fury of our maker's hand... in retrospect probably not an amazing album but at the time it's what REALLY got me into listening metal
