Actually a question people. Does Recording King have a presence in SA? I'll tell you why I ask. I have a plan for a guitar that I like the look of and one of my guitar heros plays a similar spec guitar but not sure if it's worth the effort. Recording King has a low price guitar with pretty much the same dimension spec. So, I can order the thing and have it shipped in. I dont like that especially not for acoustic but considering that it is more of a proof of concept effort really maybe not such a bad idea if I cant get it here. If I go for ordering one then Take2 has it available. And then I can get it from a music supplier overseas as well for somewhat less money. But my thinking is that if it is damaged, then money back from Take2 is immediate and from an overseas supplier it involves shipping back in the same condition in which I received it so Take2 pushes nose in front. Martin has a guitar with pretty much the same spec as well and with better appointments but at $4G's .....heeheee, hawhaww, haha!

I have seen some Recording Kings at TJs and I believe that there is a local franchise - though it's pretty low key.

I shall make enquiries and post any information here.

Yes, and I've been reading the good things about this brand on Acousstic Guitar and various other places. And I'm going at it very much as a project guitar thing. I dont expoect that it will stay in one piece for too long. But I've read some shaky stories as well. Like the bridge lifting and so forth but always the dealer honors it all with a replacement or cash back.
As for Terry Distributors, a few months back I was interested in a specific product and also made enquiry here and someone pointed out Terry Distributors. I called them and called them over and over and just got no reply as I remember it. But I think I'll give them a shout tomorrow.
And that is also why I'm thinking along the take2 line becasue if I get a guitar with the bridge lifting or some other thing happening, I just give them a shout and tell them what's wrong and it gets sortedf locally. Thanks for the info people. It looks like it should be investigated but with caution as Bob mentioned to me.
