Hello everyone
I tried hooking up my bandmate's Line 6 Spider Valve to my G-system, but somehow between the G and the Ebtech Hum Eliminator and the amp I switched the order of the balanced and unbalanced cables. So I had a balanced running to balanced and unbalanced to unbalanced. This was all through the amp's FX loop. I switched the amp on and heard a popping sound. Now it is dead. No sound. Tubes seem to be glowing. Either way. Graham is unavailable, can't get hold of Matt, so running out of options. We need this amp fixed desperately to keep gigging. Any ideas or amp techs in Cape Town you guys can direct me to?
Thanks.

Call Marshall Music - they are the Line 6 guys and I know they have a tame repairman here in CT. 021 426 6325 Ask for the guy's contact details so you can take it to him directly.
Switching balanced and unbalanced shouldn't cause damage, BTW - balanced circuits automatically adjust and unbalanced "ignore" a balanced signal.

Thanks a lot for the advice. Found a guy.
Cheers.

Sending an amp to Music Corruption is pretty much like taking it to a middle man.... all they do (at least in jhb) is let it sit on their floor for about 2 months before getting around to taking it to a tech (you could have found yourself)
However when it comes to Line 6, you have a whole different story and confusion as its not a straight forward p2p amp.....
