Clarence Clemons dies at 69

Clarence Clemons succumbed to the effects from his recent stroke, and has passed away. Damn, the news that he had the stroke the other day was bad enough, this sucks. I was really hoping he would pull through, even if it meant he had to chill with touring etc. I reckon he went out still doing what he loved though, even though he has had to slow down considerably.

Man this getting older stuff sucks.

I heard Leslie West has taken ill also, complications from Diabetes. That's all I know though.

A great, legendary player. Sad day, indeed. How many of those early E Street Band recordings would never have sounded that way without him. He combined so much in his playing - strong, agressive, sensitive, and providing musical expression to the working man's stories Springsteen wrote. Gonna be sorely missed.

Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the oppurtunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years. He was my great friend, my partner and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band.
