Best way to split your signal?

I have often split my signal from my guitar into two amps when recording guitar.

I want to know if i'm losing signal or if it might be affecting my tone in some way.

I usually use my BOSS chromatic tuner, one signal goes out from the output and another from the bypass.

I can also use my Boss line selector or Behringer DI as other options. Anything i'm overlooking? Any advice? So far it's worked pretty well for me, I just can't help feeling i'm doing something wrong or that I can do it the "right" way.

I've used the Tu-2 and a Ibanez Analoque Delay to split my signal into two amps and have found that there is a definate loss of signal. I'm now looking into getting an active A/B/Y box which boosts the signal to do it. I could hardly get any break up on a Peavey Classic 50's overdrive channel with the split signal where it's normally not a problem. IMO these pedals are not the best way to go. I don't understand much of what I'm attempting as a novice electric player. Apparently there is also issues around amps being in/out of phase. Don't know what that entails...

Well, just keep experimenting!

Anyway, I have found a lot of phasing problems in the past but I made a cable that swaps phase so it's not a problem for me, now I just really want to split the signal without loss. My next option would be the DI with phantom power? Anyone think this is a better option?

Checkout the Lehle P-Split or Radial twin city. I also split my signal with my tu2, but planning on getting one of these in the future.

Wow!The Radial twin city looks amazing! it's cheaper than the Lehle but its a pedal where you can switch between amps or play both. It's damn expensive though. I wonder if I have any good options with the resources I own at the moment.

Radial makes something called a Big Shot. Looks pretty neat as well and is hailed as a cheaper alternative to their Switchbone. I'm looking into that at the moment...

IIRC the big shot doesn't have a transformer so doesn't solve hum and signal loss issues... Could be wrong though

I think the Big Shot is like a line selector rather than a signal split and I have a Boss line selector, I was also wondering if a line selector would split the signal better than the tuner.

The Big Shot to looks basically the same as the twin city with the only difference being that the Big Shot IS passive and the Twin City active. The Big SHot does have a transformer built in according to Radial's website. These three look to be ordered thus in terms of specs and price, being able to basically perform the same function; Big Shot - Twin City - Switchbone.

I use the Radial Big Shot. It's a switcher, it doesn't split the signal simultaneously.
