This might be a very lame question but here goes:
When I follow the tablature of my favourite guitarists on Guitar-Pro I generally find them pretty easy.
However, Toni Iommi seems infinitely more difficult, could this have anything to do with him being a lefty? ???

The tab should be the same. Maybe he just plays more intricate parts.

Should make no difference in the tab whether the original composer/player is left handed or right handed.

Obviously everything is the same, what I'm getting at is - could there be any subtle nuances in 'crossingover', so to speak?

? If Iommi's anything to go by you probably right!
However, imagine if one of the Tipton/Downing duo was a lefty, wouldn't exactly look genetically superior tho, would it?

If Iommi is playing left-handed, but with the guitar strung for a lefty (so the heaviest string is physically highest as he plays) AND he's using regular tuning or has tuned all strings down by the same amount then TAB will be no different.

If he's using an altered tuning and whoever prepared the TAB you use hasn't got the tuning right then things may be different.

Where are you getting your TABs from (not just the Iommi TAB)? See other discussions on GFSA - TAB available on line is not necessarily accurate and may reflect the limitations or attitude of whoever wrote it out. A lot of the TAB thats I've grabbed off of the interwebz have lacked details or been plain wrong or suffered from the altered tuning problem that I described.

With some artists (Nick Drake being a prime example) the first step to figuring out what he's doing and being able to TAB it is to figure out what tuning he's using.

I'm a lefty but play right handed and as IceScreamMan said yes we are genetically superior. I know Herman Li and Michael Angelo Batio are both lefties by nature but I think that is not the reason their guitar parts are so hard to play. ? Hendrix tabs seem to be managable.
