Gearhead Bought one of these yesterday (not the one in the picture); best tool I bought in years. Brought down the time it takes me to properly plane a body half (before gluing the body joint) from an hour to ten minutes. Fantastic thing!
Averatu Must have set you back. Cant see the pick. Back in the day a carpenter had a special plane for every application. These days we just use routers an electric planes.
Gearhead I already had three planers (a 'butterfly' one for curved faces, a 120mm and a 230mm) but still used the router with straight guide as a preferred method for prepping body halves. Now this one at 555mm changes that: faster, less noise and dust and a lot more fun 8)
Wizard Hand planes are an absolute pleasure to use when they're properly set up. I struggle a little to set them up just right.
