What makes you think that?
Johnny has nothing to do with Jesse's writing, they're two completely separate entities.
I've been to their house a few times and been in the practise room where Jesse and his band rehearse...Johnny is nowhere to be seen.
Thomas Olson, Jesse's guitarist and musical director is one of the best guitarists I've seen, the guys incredible.

Yeah Tom is great and a fantastic player. He's actually the one that got me to build my own amp. I just had to after playing the 18 watt Lite IIB he built. He says the only reason he doesn't play a Tokai (like Jesse does) is because he can't live without the PRS's trem. Go figure.

Lol - nah, I was just kidding, though I do think it would be naive to assume that Jesse's success has nothing to do with his rather well-connected position in the music industry...

That may well be true. But Mr Clegg Jnr plays a Tokai SG last I saw, and his guitar player plays PRSs.
