Hey guys i got a Cry baby Original wah and i must admit my wah skill needs work, looking for some exercises to improve my skills. Any links or songs i should check out?

Do you know your minor/major pentatonic scale? I found it quite fun and good practise in terms of knowing what to do with the wah to get a sound you want by justing messing around with playing pentatonic solos over songs on my itunes. I would just put on a song and figure out they key by playing around until a pattern would fit then just used to wah and played improv solos with it ?

I'm siding with Singemonkery here. In fact I'm going further - it was Clapton who really ruled on the wah pedal. The two tracks that Singe cites are strong evidence.

I thought that Zappa was pretty handy with the wah as well. One interesting he would do is to just set the wah in a certain position and leave it there rather than rock the pedal to and fro. This amounted to using the Wah to put a big spike in the EQ and gave him that great "honk" tone in some of his solos.

Besides these songs mentioned... there is a wah book, i think from hal leonard... this book features a lot of Clapton I think. My wah, she is broken... otherwise I would have gotten the book.

Thanks for al the song ideas guys, il check it out and ill play around with the pentatonics aswel.. Any Guns n Roses songs worth checking? Evolucian do you know where ill be able to get my hands on that book? My local music shop is proving to be useles..

Just don't take the Kirk Hammett section too seriously. I love the guy and a lot of his playing, but he's a proponent of the random-waggling school of wah playing that must be avoided.
