For Prog Rock Fans only - Early Genesis, if you can
Squonk
Early Genesis live for TV , Live completely uncut, warts and all.
Notice the hair that Peter Gabriel has!
Notice the familiar looking drummer and backing vocals - Phil Collins
Completely different from the Genesis that Phil eventually destroyed in the 80's
From the album Nursery Cryme (1971)
Note Steve Hackett's Solo, which was quite strange in the songs setting. He is a great guitarist, a very good nylon player and was unfairly overshadowed by Steve Howe at the time

You know, I never really thought of Genesis as a "prog rock" band up there with the likes of Yes. I think they're quite different. I quite liked the early Genesis and especially the Selling England By The Pound album. I thought lyrically they were quite good and they had ..... an integration that set them apart. The solos were more like instrumental passages that fitted into the overall structure of the song. They were quite clever with seques and pulled off the long song suites better than many others.
