The looks are a bit over the top for me too - especially for very vintage-voiced amps. But they do stand apart from the crowd. ?
Tonally, I presume they are still floating your boat? I suspect that all the clips I saw when I went looking didn't do them justice, but everyone who has tried them seems to be blown away. I'll definitely make a plan to go see the range when Jean-Pierre lands his stock, but for now, I'll have to content myself with other people's impressions.
...and yes, an idea of costs involved with shipping and duties will help...
Thanks Alan
Was seriously worried when I ordered the colours, having never seen them like this before in the flesh myself...
But turns out they are superb, very over the top, but I like it like that. They truly are wonderful sounding amps, so much happening in them, swirls, clean, crisp, super responsive, just a sound that fill a room, unlike anything I have ever heard actually....
Swapped out some tubes last night, put in some NOS JAN Philips, NOS GE, put a NOS DW7 in, swopped it back out for the stock JJ, preferred... just played around and got some superb sounds. Dynamics and overtones like no other... But hey, will give a proper and honest review once I have spent a month or two with them....
Closest second was a the Dr Z Jaz, which I loved, Trem was rubbish on it tho.
They just have such a unique voice, sweet, never quite breaks up, the biggest suprise is the little atom, that thing is so musical its insane! Never played an amp that is that small that sounds that good.
Just bliss, and cranked to 11 its just something else...
Havnt quite got the AST to over 8 yet hahaha ?
another league of amps this....
