hi ya all, last sunday (yesterday ) the 5th i did an extra gig apart from my sun city residency at Rosebank market ....... and had some fun ,
below i cut a few clips from the video my partner shot , afraid she was sitting back in the seating so sound is not great and the subtlties of some of the percussion is lost in the video sound
and the new addition to my live show is the stratocaster (my 83 USA stratocaster ) which i enjoy the sound of , i used to use a jazz guitar but it wasn't vibrant enough for what i want
ok so there is only 8 min of music in total each clip is just to give a taster of what i do,
my show consists of all instrumental music ,some jazz standards and some original , also i do all the percussion too even while i play ..... unfortunately the subtle stuff like the brush on the scratchplate is lost in this video...... but no backtracks or loops are used .i pride myself in being 100% live ...........and as you will see everything is improvised.., so seat of pants type gigs........ which is my goal ....
so the strat is a new addition ........ and i like it's snap,e but now i'm wanting to use a tele for the same job, "i want to put the country twang into jazz" ?
