Looking (begging) for a studio shadow job?

Just about to finish school and really keen to get a bit of insight into the running of a studio as that is ultimately where I want to end up.
Suggestions? ?

Right ? well any in the general Cape Town grid..there are plenty of studio's, just not too sure as to which one's are willing to accept students

I don't want to speak on behalf of anyone else, but try the Rooftop recording studio in St James - they used to take students as a learnership program. Not sure if they still do, but worth a try!

do you still have to do that job shadowing assignment in school? I thought they're going to scrape LO

Yeah, unfortunately LO is still going strong...the only plus being the workshadow

yeah, good luck with that though, you learn allot and it can be pretty fun, but thank goodness I'm done with school ? good luck reaching the end and enjoy the lasts of it

I managed to shadow in a studio last year
and i must say it was awesome, definitely the coolest job shadow I've ever done...
I also got to work the lights for a brief moment during a live performance ?

Good luck finding a place to shadow! I can definitely vouch for studio job shadowing - Its faaaar better than the accounting firm I originally shadowed ???

+1 The Rooftop peeps are good friends of mine. Don't think they still do the student learnership thing, but they're a great bunch of guys and super-well-connected, so if they can't help you out, they'll be able to point you in the right direction! Definitely worth giving them a shout... Good luck!
