Does anyone know offhand what the "acceptable" ripple voltage for effect power supplies is?

I imagine that would depend on the gain in the pedal. For instance a chorus does not do a lot more than buffer the original signal, so it will not see a lot of the ripple. A metal zone however probably sends the ripple straight to the output.
