Heavy metal triple threat (with extra shred!)

Here's three new tracks I've been recording over the last few months... there's still work to be done on them, and the playing is probably not as tight as it should be, but so far I'm quite pleased with the results. It's been nice recording with an actual bass now so I can be a bit more creative with my bass lines.

This one I have included quite a shreddy solo that I will never have a hope of being able to play live, but I dig the solo so I thought I would record it anyway.

This is a metal slow jam. I'm not really happy with my clean tone yet, it sounds a bit metallic and sharp to my ears. I wan't to try get it sounding more natural.

This is just a standard metalcore track without anything too fancy, it has a bit of a two-handed tapping lead at the end. Also has a few bass drops and heavy breakdowns.

Hope you enjoy them, I almost have enough tracks now to put out an album! Any feedback is welcome ?

Track 1, Speechless - dig the solo, looks like -someone's- been practicing! Good work man. The heavy parts sound good.

Cymbals sound a little tinny and jingly, almost like bells. This is DFH? Try messing with EQ, thicken them with some reverb etc.... I dunno maybe others here have better ideas about that.

But here's the biggest thing I recommend: LOSE the drum breaks just before 1:30. It sounds tinny and sequenced whereas when you're playing guitar, it sounds a helluva lot more meaty and real! ?

Yes this is DFH, I don't EQ the cymbals at all, basically cos I don't know how this should be done! I agree they are pretty tinny and sif. I have been experimenting with reverb on the drums, but any reverb I add seems to drastically alter the tone (particularly of the snare and bass). Maybe I am just applying too much, i dunno. What reverb do you use for drums?

My drummer insisted on me putting in some sort of drum solo for him... so I included it. You know how drummers are, I didn't wanna hurt his feelings ? If I take it out then I need to come up with some more riffs... the drum section is really just a filler before the solo.
