Sorry none have you have convinced me so if I did have God like powers I would still cut 31/12/79 and paste it just before 01/01/90. And those of you with fond nostalgic memories of the 80s wouldn't know any different as your 80s nostalgia would simply be replaced by 90s nostalgia instead!
But Bob tell me about those Mamma's pizza's?! I used to have a budget in my salary for Mamma's pizza's! (thanks to Squonk for introduction). Other highlights in Yeoville included Big Mouth Burgers!!
I was a vegetarian in those days, living on mung bean sprouts, tofu and pizza. I also recall a Chinese takeaway place that had a cheap "monk's dish" that came in handy if you ...er..... hadn't been regular.
There were so many bakeries in that area. The smell used to drive you crazy.
I moved back for a while in the 90s. Very different by then. More cosmopolitan I suppose (I remember a good Lebanese restaurant) but a bit more run down and not nearly as interesting. Lots of places to get pissed, but few with anything interesting musically going on. Lots of hard drugs being sold by very nasty looking people. The golden age was over.
