AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Jane's Addiction, Metallica, The Cult, Dire Straits, Motley Crue, Motorhead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, U2 etc all put out some fantastic albums during the 80's...

Every generation has it's horrid music. The 80's had Boy George and disco, 90's had techno, the 00's had Britney Spears and the '10's has Lady Gaga.... ?

I was a kid when all the heavy stuff came out....................never had any interest in it until I heard Kill em all in '90.

I was 10 when Appetite for Destruction came out. That was the album that started it all for me...

Growing up in the 80's in Pretoria, you went clubbing at Jaquelines and they ONLY played club stuff.......

There was some epic nonsense that came out of the 80's but one has to remember a large part of the music listening public want something new and different all the time. It still happens today, listen to some of the bands that come out now, The XX are a good example of something new, pretty much as new as the pixies tried.

Mirror in the bathroom ....what a classic .....The Beat were a good band ,if i recall the singer started fine young cannibals after the Beat (if i got it right)

The Monks were a band formed by members of Strawbs basically as a fun stab at music at the time.
Bad Habits released in 1979, had some good numbers but very much tongue in cheeck. Lot's of "Police Type" songs

The bassist and Guitarist formed FYC with Singer Roland Gift, What a great band, good songs, lots of energy
