Joel. I would like to thank you profusely for showing me the attention you did recently.
It warms my heart to know that there are guys like you out there.
For those of you that don't know, Joel bought a couple of tickets to the Heath Fouche benefit show.
And then he announced that if he won the cherry red Tokai SG he would donate it to me.
Sheeeesh, this made my day, let me tell you!
'We' didn't win the guitar, but you know what, that didn't matter.
In the end we all won, Joel, Me and Heath.
And GFSA.

The other day I was at Peter Hanmers studio and Joel arrived to buy Peter's new DVD.
Were sitting around chatting and Joel says to me, have you paid for your DVD yet, so I said I'm about to pay for it now, why?
With that Joel takes out his wallet and pays Peter for my DVD.

How about that, Joel bought me the DVD.

who's joel and how do i get on his good list? ? kidding. but seriously folks... i've been part of one or two forums, and it seems to me that if you want to find like-minded folks, swap war stories, learn a few things and meet some genuinely generous spirits, join a guitar forum. we look out for each other, and for some or other reason, we look out for the world at large, too. it's a weird thing. anyone else noticed it? or just me?

Speakin' o' which, I much prefer the DLS after I turned the internal bright switch on (after not even thinking to try it for a good few months). Did you try both? With it off it sounded a bit dark to my ears. Now it gives me a fairly convincing impression of a Marshall JTM.

I also need to express my gratitude to Joel. I sold him my Korg PX5D and, a few months later, when I expressed that I missed it, he told me he had stopped using it and offered to send it back - no charge! Thanks ?

I did, isnt it just the switch to V1, as this is a V2 DLS...... if not I never found that button inside ?
I did find the rock setting way to bassy..... It was a great pedal, but my tastes shidted to other things....... I prefer it over my mi audio blues pro now however ☹
Thats why I went and got a bb preamp.. should be here soon ?

I once ran out of petrol halfway between Beaufort Wes and Three Sisters when Joel showed up and pushed the car all the way to the nearest filling station. He then walked all the way back to finish painting a disabled guy's house, but not before helping three old tannies cross the road first. Great guy!

i heard that Joel once ran into a burning building to save a keg of beer that was intene... oh no wait, that was the BarOne advert on tv last night.

But Big Up's to Joel - like that great wise man - Earl - once said - do good things, and good things will happen to you.... but i dont believe in karma so leave that king of stuff up to the wife..

yesterday we were leaving Bothners, she went to the car, I stopped to buy 2 boerie rolls, being the breakfast of champions that they are.. at the car some guy came up to her and asked for money for food. she told him she wont give him money, but would buy him a boerie roll.(again, breakfast of champions and all that), so she came over and bought the guy a R15,00 boerie roll..

we drove away, me muttering about her wasting R15,00 etc...... as we stopped at our next stop, she gets out the car and R20,00 blows up against her leg.... so all in all she came out R5,00 richer..
was it karma??? you decide..

so Joel - I am sure you are blessed in ways you probably dont even realise , just by being who you are - keep it up .

Waaaahhh.... S'true...

It sounds like Joel is the dude who, instead of sitting back and waiting for someone else to make a difference, is getting out there and doing his bit one person at a time.

I reckon we should take an example and try do the same, and not for reward or thread on a forum about us, but for the heck of it.
