Expression-/volume- and Wah pedal: Can they share similar functions?

I'm curious to know if a wah pedal can be used as an expression/volume pedal, otherwise I figure I'll need to get one of each?

Morley makes a wah/volume.. But yea it'd be really cool if there were a proper one.

Yeah I have seen the Morley Power Wah and the Dunlop Mister Crybaby (there may be others) - basically when you turn the wah off they operate like a volume pedal. However, I do think you need two separate pedals for performances and for more flexibility in positioning them in the FX chain.

The Mister Crybaby is no longer being manufactured as far as I am aware. Its a pity, it was the best one out there. Morley does indeed do this, but there have been some people who have either loved it or really hated it, so it sounds quite risky to me.

I did extensive research on this cause I too was looking for something to do this. There are a few, they are expensive. In the end it will work out cheaper and better sounding to get separate pedals. Sorry to burst the news, it sucked for me too haha

I saw albert frost using a weird fender type thing... Not sure what is was but apparently he uses his vox wah and just uses the fender thing as volume!

Yea. Interesting pedal. Ive always wanted to try it out. Vertically it changes volume, and it can move horizontally to change the tone!

I was quite lucky to see him in a small town called Bronkhorstspruit and I was part of 5 people in the crowd! So we shared too many beers after that and chatted guitar stuff for a while. He did some interesting stuff with that, but it must be the biggest pedal I have ever seen (excl. multi effects).

there is a way to mod a normal cry baby into a volume/ wah pedal and it works pretty well... it involves lifting one of the caps off the board tho, bt its a simple job.
