The Guitar that Rocked the World

Last year, I was involved in a show called The Guitar that Rocked the World. I was an experience and a half, and my first performance as a professional. I'd played before hand at Splashy and many other gigs, but nothing like this.

And now, it's going on tour to Joburg ? I have to say, I'm quite intimidated by the prospect, as we're performing in the Mandela Theatre, which is a 1100 seater. I'm also in the middle of matric...but hey, who needs education? If you're a guitarist, you should definitely come watch ? Some excellent guitar playing, and an enjoyable selection of songs.

Yeah, both Barry Thomson and Rowan Stuart are in it, as well as Dan Patlansky's old drummer Andy Turrell(except he's playing guitar). They are all incredible...I feel completely out of my league when I play with them.. the show is basically about the Fender Strat, and there is some sweet gear that's used. The show is getting sponsorship from Fender SA(apparently), so I have to choose an amp to use...I'm thinking a Deluxe Reverb? Can keep the stage levels down ? Andy actually uses a vintage '65 Super reverb, the only item that would drive me to steal.

The show opens officially tonight! Preview last night went down well, with 800 or so in the audience. As a guitarist, it is a show not worth missing ?

Hey Dan , was a really great show man. You, Andy and Rowan mad a good team. i was also impressed with the guy that did Sultans of swing; to sing and play that song is not easy.
