What is a lekker song for two guitars?

Can anyone suggest a nice song to practice for two lead guitars (alternating or playing together or whatever)?

I'm not a great electric guitarist but right now I'm quite enjoying practicing guitar parts for good songs (Johnny B Goode, Sweet Home Alabama etc.) I'm not fan of cover songs in general but I do find this stimulating. So I was wondering if there are any good suggestions for songs that me and a mate can practice together.

Look in the early Stone's catalog. You can argue that neither Jones nor Keef were technically elite players, but they had a really good way of making two guitars interlock.

Or maybe some of the Neil Young and Crazy Horse stuff. Some of those songs you can solo forever (and Neil does). "Down By The River" perhaps.

I might get lynched for this, but "Hotel California" is a good song for two guitars.
It's got little intricate bits & fills (thank you Joe Walsh) that will improve anyones playing.
And i'd go one further in recommending you give the solos a shot as well.
Another one i'm a fan of is Thin Lizzy's "The boys are back in town"...nice harmonized hooks.
Lastly, if you're into it, you could also try some Iron Maiden ?

duelling banjos turns itself quite easily into a two-guitar number, and can be quite tricky in parts to get down pat. you can also try fiddling with your own arrangements of what are, otherwise, solo acts. also, delve a but further into the past and who knows what you'll come up with. for instance, my dad and i used to throw down with 'anji' from time to time, trying to outdo each other, and it could get quite nasty. you could take a basic call & response and instead of chucking them at each other from across the room, play rock/paper/scissors instead and see who comes out on top on the count of three, if you get my drift. look, i talk kak a lot of the time, so take it all with a pinch of salt...

what i'm saying - in essence - is that there are many ways to skin this cat, and if it's something you're really enjoying, go at it in as many ways as you can think of.

Well ja. You can have a lot of fun by not sticking to some sort of guitar canon.

A friend and I worked up some songs for an open mic session a while back. One of the numbers we performed was Peter Gabriel's "Mercy Street" which actually turned out to be great fun for two guitars.

So maybe don't think just of "guitar" songs, but just songs that you'd like to play.
