No more velcro

I was wondering if anyone had ever experimented with neodymium magnets as a way to hold pedals down.
I bought a few of these magnets and they seem very very strong.

Any other alternatives to velcro pedal boards?

As strong as they are, is there any chance the magnetic field would interfere with the signal?

Apparently not. Just keep them away from your hardrives.
Something to do with one being ac and one being dc.

It's just something that i thought of doing. Haven't seen it on the net.
Gonna try see if i can stick my crybaby (it's really heavy) down to a sheet of metal.
If that works there's no reason a pedal board wouldn't. ?

Er... aren't most enclosures and commercial boards made of aluminium? That would scupper the idea, unless you put a sheet of iron or other ferromagnetic metal on one side.

Neo magnets are also to be handled with care - they are incredibly strong, oxidise quickly and can cause injury if two of them snap together (seriously - there are cases of lost fingertips from being crushed by two neo magnets). They are also a fire and explosion hazard - pickup makers (who often use neo for charging alnico magnet slugs) often warn of two snapping together as they shatter and the dust from the magnet breaking flashes in the air...

Ye i thought about attaching a sheet of iron underneath the pedal. A fire risk? I guess rather not then.
So what other alternatives are there to velcro?
