The first track that I've done in a while. I'm not very good with the whole mixing etc. So it's very soft. The lead at 1:09 was just a one take kinda think to give me an idea of what I want to do. So that lead is not done nor the lead that is supposed to follow in the clean section thereafter. All other tracks are pretty much solid (IMO). Still working on making the drums better, so some advice/ crit (on drums, mixing, volume, playing) would be welcome.

Quite cool, I like...

Only suggestion I have is to try and get some stereo width going. Double track your rhythm guitars, pan one left and one right..

Boost the bass a bit as well. and the panning thing works well.

Otherwise it's very cool.

@Raithza: I did that. I played two takes on each track and panned on left and one right. I think at aroud 75L and 75 right. The leads I put at 35L and 35R. Is that too little?
@Donovan: Yeah, there is a serious need for bass. Going to record it tonight. Just my bass skills fail. lol.

I'm not exactly an expert but to my ears it sounded like the different guitar tracks (lead vs rhythm) are competing too much for the same space. I reckon put the rhythm ones at least 90 L/R.

Excellent playing/composition btw.

I like the composition, some good changes and ideas in there. Try to articulate long notes in the leads (vibrato them a little or something ? ) to make the leads sound more pro. First lead only, later on sounds fine.

The rhythm guitars can get a little louder in the mix for more power imo. And some bass as pointed out.

All in all nice composition. Good how the song works its way back to the opening melodic theme.

@Raithza: thanks for the kind words. Really helps with the motivation.
@BMU: Shot for the feedback. The initial lead was just a once off test run. But I guess I really do need to make my vibrato stand out more. I usually have it very subtle... Got bass now ?

Cool, it's pretty striking how much depth the bass adds, everything feels fuller and more "3D". Drums sound better too, is that just me or did you do something to them?

Yeah, bass does wonders to the fullness... Changed some drums as well. Added fills better beats etc. The previous drums were just guide tracks. Still needs improvement i think though. I'd love to have someone like Gavin harrison or Carter Beauford writing drums for me! harhahrharhar! I think way too linear to program good drum tracks...
Also threw a compressor on the out bus or whatever its called. The bus where everything comes through in the end. I know nothing about compressors so I just use presets lol. What a noob. Added reverb and other stuff that seem to do things...
