Okay, so I've had it for awhile now, and I thought I would share a little about it.
I bought Alan's "Ratocaster" Strat/Tele Hybrid ?
It's really a lovely guitar. Very comfortable, really light, and great tone. I had been gassing for a tele for quite awhile and when this popped up, I obviously could not resist.
Buying it did get me into a spot of bother, when I spotted the ad I knew there would be no time to try and get hold of the wife, and then discuss buying it (which would have been a pretty long discussion). Anyway, I took it and did a whole lot of explaining later ?
I think it does Strat and Tele tones very well. Describing the bridge pup I used a line from one of Gearheads favourite movies, I told him this thing was going to drive me into both genres, country
and western ?
Really a great guitar and I'm ecstatic about it. I honestly feel a little embarrassed about owning something like this, but if anything, it has already inspired me to put a whole lot more work into my playing ?
Since there are already great pics of it on Alan's website (www.ratcliffe.co.za) and the photographer of the house is out doing a shoot (and maybe a little too soon to be asking her to take some pics of this for me) , I've just taken this pic to show you its new environment and the gear it's playing through.
I'll be using it "out" tomorrow morning for the first time, and I can't wait ?
