Let me explain a little how this thing works.
First of all, it will also be released in a floorboard and rackmount format...what you're seeing is the first generation version, they're working on the other formats.
It will come stock with many amp "profiles" in the unit, then of course you can add as many as you want.
You'll be able to share and swop profiles over the internet.
It has an extensive PC editing programme, and has high quality built in FX.
So lets say your buddy has an amazing 65 Deluxe Reverb, or a Bogner XTC, or how about a Mesa MKV.
Well, drop a mic in front of the amp, connect it to your Kemper, press the profile button, 30 seconds later you have the amp profiled and saved in your unit.
You want a profile of the same amp using a different mic or cab then go for it, do the same thing with a different mic/cab and save the profile.
Seems impossible to believe, I agree, but watch the videos, listen to the sound of the profiled amps, you cant tell the difference between the real mic'd amp and the Kemper profile version.
Of course they give you an enormous amount of tweaking ability as well, all those knobs have functions, like sag control, bias, pick attack, etc, etc...so you can tweak the profile just like you tweak an amp sim on a current modeller.
The inventor of this Kemper profiler is not new to the music world, his name is Christoph Kemper from Access music electronics...he knows what he's doing..
