Magic songs (no really)

We all have some songs that, when they come on, change everything everytime (there's many that do that for a lot of people, like Gimme Shelter). This song gives me a feeling of extreme well being... hell, the world actually looks completely different when it runs through my head: Let's hear some more...

Have you seen the movie "24 Hour Party People" Squonk? About the Manchester music scene at the time and Factory. Good movie.
I still need to see the Curtis biopic, Control. Apparently quite good (and probably very depressing too ?

Control is exactly how you say, depressing, dark and can I chuck in DEPRESSING. Very well acted and tried to get inside the mind of Curtis, which it manages to a certain degree, covers a lot of the band, but also his relationship with his wife which was very peculiar.
Paints such a dark picture of England in the late 70's etc. I think he grew up in Macclesfield and this film does not entice tourism to this part of England at all ? well worth a watch.
I think when I get home I am going to see if I have any Joy Division anywhere....

24 Hour Party People is well worth a watch, especially from a musician's point of view. Interesting little snippets of info on Joy Division, New Order,
Happy Mondays et al. and the music label behind them (and all the chaos around it).

Love Joy Division, think I might pop on some now myself ?

Ah, music just makes me drunk. Too many songs to mention that just thrill me. Here's one that caught my eye from the first time I listened to it and no memories or particular attachment to it......

X-rated Bob wrote Richard Thompson and "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" (though not the later performances where he sounds a bit tired of it, but the original recording or, even better, the fab version on his live album Two Letter Words).

I'd forgotten that that live version of 1952 Vincent Black Lightning is available on line courtesy of the on-line fan club and with the explicit permission of the artist and his management.
