My DIY amp's DIY logo

OK so while I'm busy building my amp, I'm also thinking of what kind of logo to put on. One option is a real Marshall logo, but thats a bit silly seeing I'm not building a Marshall clone, just an amp based on a Marshall. So I'm thinking about doing my own logo that will look cool. I've made a few, which style do you like best?

Why not go for a Marshall kind of font? That at least shows what kind of amp you are putting on stage.
PS when I see guys with Marshalls setting up I always try to find a place in the bar away from the stage...

That was the idea but finding that font has proven difficult, hence looking for others that looks cool. Doesn't really matter, the amp will look like a Marshall despite any logo I put on it.

I remember seeing a diy report of a guy who had built a plexi clone that he emblem`ed with his girlfriends name. You might be able to track that down and ask him what font he used? :-\

not really the bottom two, but defintiely the top 2!

The marshal "font" isn't a font, but rather a hand drawn design specifically for them. If you want to check it out EZ, lemme know, I could probably copy it with your logo.

The logo's you provided are cool, I like the top left. Maybe design a vector image of your amps design, and try the different logo's on it. Will give you a feel for what it'll look like.

Ok, this is a big secret! Since Marshall purists think it is criminal for me to put Marshall logos on my amps, I went totally punk rock and went with a Marshall inspired logo of my own. Named after my wife, the amps are now going to be called "Rachelle". I can hear the kids in a few years..."Man, look how many Rachelle stacks that guy has!" - precious... *Up date Note 02.01.09 - I am now divorced so I trimmed off the "Rac" and the last "e" so now they are called "hell" amps! Ha Ha! I still have a sense of humor even after my divorce...

Ja Thats cool. I'm trying to decide which is a more pleasing kind of style. Yours being the same as mine + a few tweaks. Not sure if I want curly writing or the diner type font or block letters or what, will see what others think, I liked top left most before I set up the poll.

Suggestions by anyone welcome, btw!

so you could probably make the Z a little smaller, and the 18 a little larger...
but yeah... thats the style i like most as well!

but at the end of the day, you need to be happy with it!

I have suspicion that if you wright "eezee" in a similar fashion to the marshall logo, it will kinda crap. ?

No offense, but if you look at the basic character of the font, you can rather start from scratch.

Were on the amp are you going to place the logo?
Dead center(orange), top left(vox), top center (like Marshall), ens.

That is super important, and will have a dramatic influence on what style of logo will work best ?

I think the fonts you've got are great. I don't think it's cool to use a company's brandname for a product they weren't involved in - even if they might wish they were by the time it's finished. If it looks good it looks good.

I like your top left layout with the 18 underneath. I really like the font. I preferr Alan's eeZee layout of that word though.

You're definitely on the right track! I would avoid Marshall-a-like, but that's just me.
