I SEE THIS IS AN AC30! JUMP ON IT QUICK!
As I was reading the thread, I suspected you and GH were talking about the AC15 CC1, rather than the AC30 CC1. The OP was a bit confusing. ?
AC30s in general work very well for Tele(ish) guitars, the complex tone fattens up the rather wirey stock sound nicely. Especially the 2 X12" models. The CC1 is a much more flexible (and portable) amp than the original, but there is a magic to the tone of the original that makes the extra weight and cost worthwhile IMO.
IIRC, the Earlier CC1 used a Wharfedale speaker, which was a bit "meh". The stock Celestion NeoDog in the newer version isn't bad (and is a lightweight neodymium mag speaker, making the amp really portable in comparison to the other versions) - a lot closer to the Celestion Blue, which is very much part of "The" AC30 sound. You can't upgrade to a Blue in a CC1 (as it's only a 15W speaker), but the Gold works well (or the 30W version of the Weber Blue Dog).
At the price, I don't think you can go wrong, and regardless of what speaker is in there, once you've got it, you can always haul it in to Turnkey and try it through a couple of different extension cabs to see if upgrading the speaker is worth it to you.
