My band's first recording (Storm Under Control)

My band, Storm Under Control has recorded our first recording "Puppet Strings" at Iris Music (vereeniging) as part of the Band Clash 2011 top 5 prize. This track is going to be aired on radio in the next couple of weeks!

Very good vocal sound. Reminds me of Garbage in many ways. I loved Garbage.

although that lead melody gets annoying, it features a bit too much. Also the mixing leaves a little to be desired for my ears.

Good song, any more to share?

I like it, well done!! :applause:
some comments though, the song is a bit long and your lead vocalist's voice is too soft - not through the whole song but only around 2:17 (and is on a very similar tone to the guitar tone),
apart from that, great.

If I may add, the vocalist (Eden) is 16, as well as the guitarist (me). The other guitarist is 19.. The drummer and bassist is a bit older into the 20s

I like it. The vocalist has a pleasant voice. To get a real "hit" you'll need more of a "hook" I guess. But this is cool, I like the composition.

The recording sounds like a demo, which is fine. The individual performances (guitar, drums) are a little tight in places and conversely the band as a whole is not quite tight enough.

But that's just to "encourage" you to keep growing. ? You guys are 16 so this is great. The way to address all of this is simply to keep doing it. Good job!

Yeah this track quality isn't the best, we're heading into a pro studio next month or so for a few more.
I know this is gonna sound like I'm just covering it up, but the songs un-tightness as a band (which is true!) is because we actually took the risky decision at the studio to rather record a other song as originally planned. Puppet Strings (this song) was composed 1 week before the recording.. And so we didn't really have the tightness you explained yet..
