I've got an MXR Tremolo that died on me after a week (during which it was taken for a short test ride but once). It worked fine at first. Second time around, nothing... Either no signal or just some weird noise. Bough it new, but the retailer in Bloem did an awesome trade in for me, so I hardly payed anything for it and (shame on me) at first felt too monkey-faced to return it straight away.
Now - partially because of the time-lapse, but also because I'm afraid it's gong to be shipped of somewhere with me stranded, tremoless (Which I am, anyway) - I'm thinking rather of taking it to someone (in Jhb area preferably)
Any ideas?
Also, where can I get its 18V-for-crying-out-loud power supply? Anyone spotted them or will I have to wait three months for a shipment like I did for the pedal in the first place?
Only noticed this topic now.
Firstly, if it is still under warranty (usually 1 year) you should return it to the retailer. It would then get sent to us (the MXR distributor in SA) in JHB and be repaired at no charge to you if it failed because of a factory fault. Unless it is old stock of TOMS (the previous distributor for MXR), in which case they would handle the repair.
We have stock of the 18V power supplies at all times. If you want one, get your local retailer to order one in for you. Otherwise there are a number of stores in JHB that keep them.
