Just bought a DR Z...

So thats a pretty simple concept....... I just bought a a 2 by 10 Carmen Ghia Combo, to be delivered to my new house in Florida. Its an Amp I did not think I owuld have enough cash for but it all worked out and I got a brand new model with Brake lite. I also got the limited edition Surf green..... no pics yet but when I get there......... Sweet this is my first new amp ever...... I dont mind country, I listen to Wilco (which is my sort of country I have decided) and the country music does have some great guitar sounds, but trust me it kills you after a bit... as I type this very sentance there is a annoying country song behind me.....

Dr Z hmmmm..... spoke to them, it arrives on friday, but there has been a delay on surf green, so I told them to change the order to a blonde one....... sad but true.... I dont want to wait anymore for a amp, I am dying.

I ownt lie I think they are super talented, hence there past bands before this one, he is a very smart guy, and has some serious skills when it comes down to it...... he has alot of flow my black brothers have informed me...... being white I find it hard to pick up on sometimes ? but really he does swear and useshock tactics, but in the same way Lady Gaga does, she is super smart behnd that over the top stupidity....... funny enough he is just showing most people what they want to see but are to scared.....

But on Dr z when its here I will demo it as well and upload it ?

See no one said it was. You're hearing swearing and seeing shock videos and your reaction to that's making you miss how creative they are. People had the same reaction to Zappa. To Rage Against the Machine. To Public Enemy. It's like when I hear whiny emo voices and I can't look past them to the songs. It took me a long time to deal with The Decemberists because of that vocal.

They're good despite it - not because of it.

SO this just arrived in the UPS truck..... packed and ready to go...
what you dont see is that it has a green pilot light..... rare and cool ? and the new logo ?

It sounds awsome and is WAY loud, thank goodness I got a brake lite....... without it is amazing but with it is great....... it gives a very near overdrive vox esque sound at about half, anything over it really screams, I dont really need an overdrive pedal now......... its a real country amp which is what I was wanting even though I dont like country.....

two knobs, both set at half I will never need to tweak again...... I prefer the blonde actually now in person it looks a little more classy ?

I cant really shuffle about as easly now I am here ?
but I would like to try just buying new gear, and not selling old stuff...... I would like to get another amp still, perhaps a morgan ac20 ? or a bad cat ? or a matchless ?
But right now I am super happy with this setup. really makes my overdrive useless, or a little more useless than before....
Set hte volume to half and it really grinds up, at 75% its pretty dirty..... and this is with single coil guitars......
at home I have to leave the brake lite on full

(BTW: in the corner and against the wall like that, you're probably not hearing the amp's true voice. Bass will be boosted quite a bit.)

They are getting the amps in jhb slowly, and they really are best bang for the buck boutique amps....... and I found the price a very fair one, expecially since jhb music con wanted 30k for one, I got it for alot less... They did say at music con the price would be dropping soon if they could work it out with DR Z......

Yeh I must move it from the wall then, the tone knob is very responsive, its actually like a wah wah pdal when you turn it, creates that effect... so not like most tone knobs........
I just cannot get over how loud it is, for 18 watts........ they say the 2 by 10 combo is the loudest format but .. my life its loud
