whats a good angle for the neck to be tilted down ????
Depends on how high you need the bridge - a Strat with a tune-o-matic bridge needs quite a neck angle, but on most Strat type guitars a 1mm or less shim usually does the job.
That neck wouldn't budge, I tried but there was minimal room for adjustment.
That could be because either the neck joint is a tight one (which would be surprising on a budget guitar), or more likely there's no wiggle room in the screw holes in the body. If it looks like the latter, enlarge the holes in the body by a mm or two. If it's a tight neck pocket, modifying it is a bit of a hectic job to tackle if you're not comfortable with it.
As it is the body has small cracks running from the neck recession and the strap pegs.
Parallel with the top and back? Probably a plywood body. When I saw the pics I thought it would be ply or superwood.
